Dimitrijevic said, in a meeting with members of the press onboard the boat “Sirona”, that the most important events in the area mentioned this year were the adoption of the Strategy of tourism development for the period until 2015, introduction of the "Great award of Serbian tourism - White Angel”, and adoption of the National Investment Plan.
According to Dimitrijevic, in legislation the adoption of the Law on public ski slopes was most important, as well as the amendment to the Law on tourism, and bills on trade, product security, health resorts and electronic trade were also prepared.
He added that the drafting of the law on commodity reserves and commodity exchange is still continuing, and recalled that a council of ministers for consumer protection and the Serbian Congress Bureau were formed.
The Minister said that this year the campaigns “Buy Serbian” and “Best Serbian Brands” were continued, categorisation of 80 tourism sites was carried out, and the Ministry issued 518 licenses to tourist agencies.
He stated that this year major investments were made in the area of tourism, and a sum of €50 million was allocated from the National Investment Plan for the development of tourism, while more than RSD 800 million was set aside for subsidies and loans from the tourism development fund and the budget.
The Ministry contributed to entrepreneurship and strengthening of small and medium-sized enterprises through stimulant measures, especially in the sector of tourism, said the Minister, adding that prices of oil derivatives have been temporarily adjusted to the price of oil in the world market, which has led, for the first time, to a fall in their price in domestic markets.
