Bubalo said that the plant was built with credit support of the Serbian Development Fund and is unique in the Balkans for its system of quality control, set after the highest standards in the production of construction materials.
He explained that every product comes with a certificate that guarantees a high quality standard, which contributes to the increase of security and quality of domestic civil engineering.
The Minister said that the new plant is an example of good investment showing all businesspeople that the government will always support profit-making, export-oriented programmes that will also create new jobs.
According to Bubalo, export-oriented programmes, such as production of steel frameworks, will stimulate foreign trade which is the biggest problem of the Serbian economy.
He said that there are encouraging signals that Serbia can make use of its development potential and create strong economic growth.
For the first time sine 2000 the export-import coverage was over 50%, he said and added that introduction of new technologies stimulates the country’s export, which will grow 30% this year.
He recalled that the government made a big progress in the previous three years by rounding up the institutional and legal environment for the development of modern market economy.
President of Europolis Vladan Zecevic said that the new 1,500 square metre plant will employ 20 workers.
He added that the present daily production of armature networks and other construction materials is 150 tonnes, which covers more than a third of the domestic market, whereas the company exports 40% of its production to Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia and Bulgaria.
Zecevic announced that in spring 2007 Europolis will get credit support of the Serbian Development Fund for opening a new €6 million plant in Vladimirci.
