State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Health Nevena Karanovic and Ambassador of the Czech Republic Ivan Jestrab opened today the second reconstructed part of the urology ward at the Dragisa Misovic clinical centre in which €320,000 has been invested.
Karanovic said that the health ministry has in the past three years invested RSD 52.5 million in equipment procurement for Dragisa Misovic clinical centre, as well as RSD 42 million for reconstruction works.
She said that a public tender was officially called on December 12 for purchasing all the equipment needed for the second reconstructed part of the urology ward, adding that by end-March 2007 this building will be available for use in its entirety and will function as a modern hospital.
Jestrab said he is pleased that the ward has been opened and recalled that the first part of the ward was opened in May 2005, adding that the reconstruction was solely financed by the Czech Republic.
The Ambassador stressed that the entire donation, which is part of the Czech Republic's humanitarian aid to Serbia, is worth €1.2 million and was implemented from 2000 to 2005 within the programme themed "The Reconstruction of the Balkans".
