Karanovic noted that €900,000 has been spent for equipment and infrastructure of the unit, €500,000 being set aside by the Ministry while the rest, €400,000, was provided by the Kragujevac Clinical Centre.
She pointed out that every patient who is an urgent medical case will receive medical help and diagnosed, after which the patient will be sent to the appropriate clinic.
According to her, one of the three surgery wards of the emergency unit can be used to undertake urgent surgeries.
Karanovic recalled that the Ministry of Health invested €9 million in the Kragujevac Clinical Centre over the past three years, which is one of best examples of Serbia’s decentralisation.
She announced that during the next month, this hospital unit will be equipped with magnetic resonance, whereas Novi Sad and Nis clinical centres will receive such wards next year.
Director of the Kragujevac Clinical Centre Radomir Pavlovic said that one surgeon, one itinerary, one anesthesiologist and nurses will be on call non-stop and added that the hospital of the emergency unit has 24 beds.
