During his visit to Nis, Lalovic voiced satisfaction with the fact that unemployment hasn't increased, as opposed to other countries in transition in which a drastic rise was recorded.
He said that in the past three years 670,000 people have been employed through the National Employment Service, or 220,000 a year on average and added that on the labour market there is a surplus of workers in professions that are not much sought, and a lack of those who are necessary to the economy and society with their knowledge and qualifications.
During the visit to Nis, Lalovic visited a Centre for children without parental care "Dusko Radovic" and laid a corner stone for the construction of Duvaniste community health centre.
The Minister also attended the presentation of contracts on scholarships to 22 postgraduate students in the Nis branch office of the National Employment Service, where he spoke with people who found jobs through the Club for active job search, and with participants in the project "Virtual enterprises".
After that Lalovic visited the Gerontology Centre and the private bakery Brankovic which was granted subsidies to employ 42 new workers through various regional programmes.
