Members of the Association pointed out that from 1998 to 2001, more than 2,000 ethnic Albanians were freed, including the Mazreku brothers who committed crimes against Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
They proposed that a legal representative for the families of those kidnapped and killed be appointed, and that civilian, military and police victims in Kosovo-Metohija be equalised by law.
Also, Association members pointed out that it is necessary to exclude the criterion according to which members of these families can receive compensations only if they don't receive any other financial aid.
Participants in the meeting reached an agreement that the Ministry of Justice, in line with its jurisdiction, requests a report from the Prosecutor's Office for War Crimes on criminal complaints submitted for war crimes committed and examine the possibilities for the members of the families of the Association to receive damages.
