In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Sekulovic explained that the decision will be put into force today and will nullify the warning previously issued to companies importing goods from Serbia.
He recalled that the decision was first made as far back as January 20, 2004, however Serbia could not yet control the issuing of certificates on the origin of goods in line with EU regulations.
Sekulovic said that following the latest visit of the EU mission, it was determined that Serbia is administratively prepared to control and issue these certificates in line with EU regulations, adding that this will serve as an important impetus to Serbian export which is already on the rise.
He emphasised that since 50% of Serbia's foreign trade is taking place with EU countries, this will be great news for Serbian exporters. The decision actually means that Serbia is able to abide by EU regulations and that EU importers have nothing to fear when importing goods form Serbia, added Sekulovic.
