Miscevic said that the readmission agreement is a precondition for the agreement on visa relaxations to be signed and added that it is of great importance both for the EU and Serbia since there can be no visa regime without a readmission agreement.
The agreements on visa relaxations and readmission will be put into force on the same day because one agreement conditions the other, said Miscevic.
The readmission agreement will create conditions for Serbian citizens living illegally abroad to be deported to Serbia. Once the agreement is enforced, visa relaxations will refer to students, experts, civil servants and businesspeople registered at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
The Serbian negotiating team will ask that the relaxations be extended to refer to journalists, the NGO sector, families of people legally employed in the EU, sports and cultural workers and people who need medical treatment in EU member countries.
