Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic attended today the opening of international conference "Education and training in the defense system - Euro-Atlantic aspect", which is dedicated to the role of military education in the entire education system of the Republic of Serbia and the Euro-Atlantic space.

Vuksanovic said at the conference which is being held today and tomorrow in the Guard's Centre in Topcider that it is important to integrate military schools into the Serbian education system and voiced hope that that process will develop more rapidly.
Serbian Minister of Defence Zoran Stojkovic said that the reform of military education is being carried out as part of reforms in the entire defence system which are aimed at helping Serbia join Euro-Atlantic integration processes.

The ministries of defence, and of education and sport have made a bill that proposes inclusion of the higher military education into the Law on higher education of Serbia.
A study programme for obtaining a common degree of the Military Academy and the Faculty of Security has started to be applied, with which the Military Academy has been included into the system of the Belgrade University, Stankovic explained and added that the concept of studies is harmonised with the Bologna declaration.
British Ambassador to Serbia Stephen Wordsworth said that Britain will continue to offer assistance to Serbia for the implementation of reforms in military education.
