At the meeting taking place at the Serbian Tax Administration, it was pointed out that in the upcoming three days the greatest attention will be paid to the improvement of communication with taxpayers through electronic mail as well as by creating trustful relations between the Administration and taxpayers.
The work will be carried out through sub-groups "Call Centres" and "Previously Filled-In Electronic Tax Report", who will also prepare appropriate publishing material.
This area group includes 28 tax administrations of IOTA member countries. Guests from Slovakia, Estonia, Norway, Denmark and Hungary will share their experiences with other participants.
The Serbian Tax Administration is also a member of this area group whose aim has since its set-up in 2003 been to develop and optimise taxpayer voluntary fulfillment of obligations.
The organisation of the meeting was assisted by the European Agency for Reconstruction and the German organisation for technical cooperation (GTZ), with whom the Tax Administration has already successfully realised several projects.
IOTA was founded in 1996 with is head office in Budapest and it currently has 38 full members. Its activities are based on providing technical assistance to developing tax administration services though the work of area groups, seminars, panel discussions and workshops.
