The interlocutors also discussed the extension of the gas supply contract, which expires on 30 June this year.
They noted the good progress made on the expansion of the Banatski Dvor underground gas storage facility, which will be expanded from 450 million cubic metres to 750 million cubic metres.
Đedović Handanović emphasised that by increasing storage capacities, along with the construction of new gas interconnections with its neighbours, Serbia is laying the foundation for building long-term energy security, in which its partnership with the Russian Federation will continue to play an important role.
