First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali stated today that the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington has confirmed the successful completion of the third review under the ongoing non-financial arrangement, the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI), with the Republic of Serbia.

Mali assessed that this confirms the Serbian economy’s credibility and resilience, as well as the government’s commitment to preserving macroeconomic stability, as recognised by a renowned international financial institution such as the IMF.
The First Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that Serbia’s macroeconomic indicators are good, that the country was among the fastest growing economies in Europe in the first quarter of this year, that its public debt is far below the Maastricht level and amounts to 43.8% of GDP, with unemployment below 9% and employment at 50.7%.
We have approximately RSD 515 billion in our account, foreign exchange reserves are at a record level of €29.9 billion, while gold reserves exceed 54 tonnes, Mali specified, noting that our public finances are completely stable and the economy is resilient.
