Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić saw off today, in front of the Palace of Serbia, the firefighters-rescuers who have been sent to France to provide assistance in extinguishing major wildfires.

Dačić stated that a team of 34 members of the Emergency Situations Sector and three members of the medical team, with a total of 15 vehicles – 13 firefighting and transport vehicles, one ATV, one ambulance and two trailers – will be deployed in the town of Vailhauquès in southern France.
He recalled that 40 members of the Emergency Situations Sector had previously been sent to Spain.
Dačić specified that the operating base of the Helicopter Unit sent to Spain is El Tiétar Airport near Madrid, while the operating base of the firefighting and rescue team is the town of Zamora. He added that the helicopter had already operated five times in the Castilla and León region and that the reactions of the Spanish public had been extremely positive.
