By sectors, the production and distribution of electric energy, gas and water in September 2006 fell by 0.8% against September 2005, while the processing industry saw a growth of 2.5% and ore and stone mining 1%.
Compared to September 2005, this September the production of durable consumer goods rose by 28.2%, non-durable consumer goods by 6.2%, intermediate products excluding energy by 1% and energy by 0.3%, whereas the production of capital goods fell by 18.2%.
Industrial production increased in September 2006 against September 2005 in 10 areas making up 42% of total industrial production, but there was also a decline in 19 areas which account for 58% of total industrial production.
The September growth in comparison with September 2005 was mostly influenced by the production of elementary metals, foodstuff and beverages, furniture, oil derivatives and electrical machines and appliances.
The growth in the period from January to September 2006 in comparison to the same period last year was mostly influenced by production of elementary metals, foodstuff and beverages, furniture and chemicals and chemical products.
