Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić extended his condolences to the state leadership and citizens of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela following the devastating earthquake that struck the country.
“I was deeply saddened and concerned by the news of the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela, claiming lives and leaving behind widespread destruction and suffering.
On behalf of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the state leadership and the friendly people of Venezuela, and I wish those injured a swift recovery.
In these difficult moments, our thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones, as well as with those struggling with the consequences of this great tragedy.
Natural disasters always remind us that solidarity, humanity and mutual support are values that unite peoples more strongly than any borders or differences.
As a demonstration of sincere friendship and solidarity with the people of Venezuela, the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia has made available specialised rescue teams from the Emergency Situations Sector, ready to assist with their knowledge, experience and humanitarian commitment in addressing the consequences of this tragedy. Communication with the Venezuelan authorities is currently under way.
I am confident that Venezuela, relying on the strength of its people and the support of friends around the world, will find the strength to overcome these difficult times and continue on the path of recovery and reconstruction,” the message of condolence states.
