First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali attended today at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce the ceremony announcing the winners of the Microbusiness Heroes 2026 campaign, organised by the daily newspaper Blic and 3 Banka with the aim of promoting and rewarding the most successful micro-entrepreneurs in Serbia.

Small entrepreneurs driving force of domestic economy

Congratulating the winners, Mali said that they are a driving force and an inspiration for everyone wishing to start a small business in Serbia, noting that the Government of Serbia and the state are doing everything to improve the business environment.
The state will continue increasing wages and pensions in order to preserve consumer demand for the products of domestic entrepreneurs, he said, noting that the average salary in Serbia amounted to €1,037 in April this year, the highest level recorded so far.
According to him, this represents real growth of 9.5% compared with April last year and, despite inflation and all the challenges, real demand remains at a strong level, which is very important for small businesses.
Mali also said that Serbia recorded GDP growth of 3.2% in the first quarter, placing it among the fastest-growing economies in Europe.
