Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović stated today in Jinan, in China’s Shandong Province, that Serbia is not only a partner of China, but also a country that China sees as a reliable friend and one of the key points of cooperation in this part of Europe.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 7th China-Central and Eastern Europe (CEEC) Local Leaders’ Meeting and the 2026 Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Exchange Week, Mesarović emphasised that the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism has, over the years, demonstrated that genuine partnership is based not only on economic interests, but also on mutual trust, respect and a shared vision of development.
She underlined that through this cooperation Serbia seeks to further strengthen its international standing, create new development opportunities, attract investment and build strong ties with Chinese provinces, cities and companies.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed to the importance of relations between Serbia and the People’s Republic of China, noting that, thanks to the personal relationship of high trust between the two presidents, an iron-clad friendship has been built that has brought Serbia significant investment, new jobs, infrastructure modernisation and strong economic growth.
Mesarović concluded that Serbia today is not a country waiting for development, but one that is actively shaping its economic future through partnerships with the world’s strongest global actors.
