Đurić conveyed that today’s talks were highly productive and focused on how to enhance overall cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and all other spheres.
The Minister pointed out that in the previous year Serbia achieved €2.8 billion in trade with the Czech Republic, expressing confidence that this economic cooperation will continue to grow further in the coming period.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed gratitude to Czech friends for their understanding of Serbia’s position in the European context and their support on a wide range of issues in the international arena.
Đurić informed his counterpart that, particularly over the past four years, there has been unprecedented pressure on the Serbian Orthodox Church and on the institutions of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
He also noted that Serbia continues to approach the EU-facilitated dialogue constructively in order to preserve stability, while at the same time insisting on the protection of the collective, political, cultural and religious rights of Serbs.
Macinka stated that relations between Serbia and the Czech Republic are at a high level and that there are no outstanding issues, emphasising the need to continue such good cooperation at all levels.
He added that both he and the Czech Republic act as advocates for Serbia at various levels within the European Union, particularly in the context of accession negotiations.
Macinka expressed understanding for the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as for the arguments put forward by the Serbian side, noting that he also understands the historical context.
