Serbia, Uzbekistan exchange 20 bilateral documents

Serbia and Uzbekistan today exchanged 20 bilateral documents across a range of sectors at a ceremony held at the Palace of Serbia, attended by the presidents of the two countries, Aleksandar Vučić and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The exchanged documents included a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in digitalisation, e-government development and the application of modern technologies, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in information and communication technologies.

The documents also included an Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in renewable energy and green technologies, and a Joint Statement of Intent on establishing a working group for possible negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement.

Serbia and Uzbekistan also exchanged an Agreement on cinematographic cooperation and co-production, as well as a Programme of Cooperation in the field of culture for the period 2026-2028.

Representatives of the two countries exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in tourism and cultural travel, along with an Agreement on cooperation in agriculture, water resources and sustainable rural development.

The exchanged documents also included an Agreement on the international transport of passengers and goods by road, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in support of the Middle Corridor, and a Protocol on cooperation in railway infrastructure.

Among the exchanged documents were also an Agreement on mobility and labour migration, a Memorandum on cooperation in occupational safety and health, and a Memorandum on the protection and advancement of the rights of persons with disabilities.

The countries also exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, a Memorandum on cooperation in environmental protection, an Agreement on interregional cooperation, and a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in economic diplomacy.

Earlier in Novi Sad, Vojvodina Provincial Government President Maja Gojković and Deputy Governor of the Samarkand Region Khurshidbek Samiev exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding between the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Uzbekistan’s Samarkand Region on establishing partnership relations.

The presidents of Serbia and Uzbekistan, Aleksandar Vučić and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a Joint Statement between Serbia and Uzbekistan on establishing a strategic partnership.

Before the exchange of the bilateral agreements, Vučić presented Mirziyoyev, who is on a two-day official visit to Serbia, with the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a Grand Collar.
