The meeting noted that three important transport-related documents have been prepared and will be signed tomorrow in the presence of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Sofronijević stressed that these documents demonstrate that the friendship between Serbia and Uzbekistan is being translated into concrete cooperation and tangible results.
The Minister said that Serbia highly values its friendly relations with Uzbekistan and expressed confidence that there is significant scope for the two countries to further strengthen cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure.
When we build infrastructure and improve transport links, we are also building stronger economic ties. Serbia is ready to continue along that path and, together with Uzbekistan, open new chapters of cooperation, Sofronijević said.
The Minister emphasised that Serbia looks forward to Uzbekistan’s participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, noting that it will provide an important platform to showcase the two countries’ potential, deepen mutual ties and create new opportunities for cooperation.
Serbia and Uzbekistan have traditionally maintained good and friendly relations, and today’s meeting further confirms the two countries’ clear commitment to continue expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
