The Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue organised today, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the final conference of the "Advance Gender Equality" campaign.

The conference presented the results of three years of work, experiences from the national and local levels, as well as directions for further action in the field of advancing gender equality.
Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue Demo Beriša emphasised that this campaign has shown the importance of continuous cooperation between state institutions, local governments, civil society, businesses and international partners in creating an environment in which women and men have equal opportunities.
The results we have achieved together represent the basis for the further development of gender equality policies, strengthening institutional capacities and improving the position of women in all areas of social life, the Minister said.
Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and President of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality Snežana Paunović emphasised that Serbia has made important steps in the field of gender equality - through laws, institutions and mechanisms that should guarantee equal opportunities, but that society still has an important task ahead, which is changing prejudices, stereotypes and habits.
The "Advance Gender Equality" campaign was implemented in the period from 2023 to 2026 as part of the second phase of the "Support to Social Inclusion in Serbia" project, which was jointly implemented by GIZ, the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, and the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development - BMZ.
