Dačić extends condolences over death of former FBI director

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić extended condolences today over the death of former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Robert Mueller, emphasising his great contribution to the fight against international crime and the development of cooperation among police services around the world.

“I have received with great sorrow the news of the death of former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Robert Mueller, a man who marked an important era in the work of American security institutions and made a significant contribution to the global fight against terrorism and organised crime.

During my visit to Washington in 2010, I had the opportunity to meet with Mueller, when we discussed improving cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and the FBI, which laid the foundations of a partnership that continues even today and yields significant results in the fight against organised crime and all other forms of crime.

On behalf of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic Serbia and on my own behalf, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. I believe that the legacy he left behind will continue to live on through even stronger cooperation between our institutions in the fight against contemporary security threats,” Dačić's letter of condolences reads.
