The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that two planes of the national airline Air Serbia landed from Riyadh at the "Nikola Tesla" Airport in Belgrade last night with a total of 289 passengers, including 18 babies.
The flights from Riyadh to Belgrade were successfully coordinated by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Damjan Jović and Secretary General of that ministry Dušan Kozarev.
Both planes took off from Riyadh to Belgrade at the same time and our citizens from Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia landed safely at the Belgrade airport.
Upon landing in Riyadh, Jović stated that the evacuation of our citizens from Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar by land, across the border with Saudi Arabia, lasted throughout the night.
According to him, the procedures went well, quickly and efficiently thanks to the talks that Foreign Minister Marko Đurić had with the foreign ministers of those countries in the previous days.
Kozarev said that the repatriation of Serbian citizens, as well as citizens of other countries, had continued successfully, stating that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Great Britain and Egypt were also successfully evacuated as part of the same operation.
