Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić met with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UNMIK Mission Peter Due, who assumed this position in January this year.
This courtesy meeting was also attended by Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Office in Belgrade Dominika Krois.
Dačić wished his interlocutor success in carrying out this important function and emphasised that Serbia attaches great importance to the work of UNMIK.
Informing his interlocutor about the difficult situation of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that it is crucial to continue the engagement of that mission with the aim of consistently implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
He expressed the expectation that the practice of good police cooperation with UNMIK will continue, as well as regular and substantive communication on all issues of importance for UNMIK's operations in Kosovo and Metohija.
The interlocutors discussed the possibilities of improving cooperation in areas of common interest, as well as current developments in the country and the region.
