Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, said at the Future of Mobility Forum, held as part of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, that mobility today represents a strategic national priority and a new development opportunity.
Speaking about contemporary global challenges, Macut stressed that mobility can no longer be viewed merely as a necessity, but as a key advantage in a time of rapid change, in which the speed of information, movement and response determines the competitiveness of societies and states.
The Prime Minister underlined that mobility lies at the very heart of economic development, security and the quality of citizens’ day-to-day lives, placing particular emphasis on adaptability as a fundamental characteristic of modern governments.
He noted that the Government of Serbia has placed adaptability among its key priorities, highlighting in this context the development of dual education, not only in secondary schools, but also as a lifelong process accessible to all generations, in order to enable professional mobility and rapid adaptation to changes in the labour market.
Addressing public administration reform, the Prime Minister emphasised that the goal is to create an efficient, modern and merit-based administration, ready to respond to the challenges of mobility through continuous training, the application of modern technologies and digitalisation.
The Prime Minister also pointed to the need to modernise higher education through international cooperation, the exchange of students and professors, as well as partnerships with leading global universities, assessing that the free movement of young people represents an important added value for the education system and society as a whole.
He added that Serbia confirms its commitment to mobility and openness to the world through the organisation of the international Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade.
