Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, said today, following the inaugural session of the Organising Committee for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, which will be co-hosted by Serbia and Albania, that hosting this major tournament represents significant recognition for Serbia.

Macut, who was elected Chairman of the Organising Committee, said that Serbia will once again demonstrate its readiness to host events of the highest international level.
He noted that this major international sporting event marks a new stage in the country’s development and is particularly important as it will take place during Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade.
General Secretary of the Football Association of Serbia Branko Radujko said that the most important part of the undertaking will be the reconstruction of pitches at ten venues where teams will train and play matches, as well as the Partizan Stadium, which is expected to host the opening match of the tournament.
He also announced that the draw for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship will take place on 26 November this year.
