Following the meeting, Macut said that Serbia remains firmly committed to further strengthening good-neighbourly relations and advancing cooperation with North Macedonia.
He noted that the talks focused on issues of strategic importance for both countries and the region, with particular emphasis on improving transport and energy connectivity, developing infrastructure, strengthening economic and agricultural cooperation, and creating more favourable conditions for increased trade and the freer movement of people, goods and services.
The Prime Minister stressed that the development of modern transport infrastructure is one of the key prerequisites for stronger economic growth across the region, highlighting the importance of modernising the railway corridor linking Serbia, North Macedonia and Greece.
Macut also said that the two sides discussed activities related to the implementation of the Serbia-North Macedonia gas interconnector project, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in the field of oil infrastructure, stressing that energy security and diversification of supply are in the shared interest of the two countries.
He also pointed to the importance of further enhancing cooperation in agriculture, primarily by removing red tape that would enable more efficient trade in agricultural and food products, as well as by strengthening partnerships between producers in the two countries.
The Prime Minister stated that the two sides also discussed the further development of air transport, assessing that the regular flights between Belgrade and Ohrid provide a solid foundation for strengthening tourism, economic ties and overall cooperation.
Macut said that Serbia sees North Macedonia as a reliable partner and friend, stressing that cooperation between the two countries will continue to be based on regular political dialogue, mutual trust and the implementation of concrete joint projects that bring direct benefits to citizens and contribute to peace, stability and the long-term development of the region.
Following the tête-à-tête meeting between the two prime ministers, a working lunch was held for the delegations of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia.
During the visit to Ohrid, Prime Minister Macut was accompanied by Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijević, and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić.
