Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starović received today on a farewell visit Special Envoy of the Government of Slovenia for the Western Balkans Anžej Frangeš.
Starović and Frangeš discussed the current dynamics of Serbia’s European Union accession process, regional stability, bilateral cooperation between the two countries and global issues.
The Minister reiterated Serbia’s firm commitment to continue implementing reforms, particularly in the areas of the rule of law and economic development, emphasising that full EU membership remains a strategic priority for Serbia.
In the context of reforms, Starović highlighted the importance of the Reform Agenda, specifically the European Union Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
According to him, Serbia is successfully meeting reform objectives that enable the use of funds from the Growth Plan, reflecting an active commitment to fulfilling its obligations.
The Minister noted that for Serbia, as the largest and most important country in the region, the Reform Agenda represents the most significant instrument for the economic advancement of the entire region and for bringing Serbia closer to the EU Single Market.
Starović thanked Slovenia for its continuous support to Serbia in the European integration process, both politically and through expert assistance.
Frangeš reiterated that Slovenia remains an advocate for the fastest possible progress of Serbia towards EU membership.
At the end of the meeting, Starović wished Frangeš success in his new role as Ambassador of Slovenia to Hungary, the Ministry of European Integration stated.
