At the opening of the World in 2026 conference at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Macut emphasised that this was not only a year of apprehension, but also a year in which we learned, tested our resilience and did not choose instability, but did choose the way in which we would respond to it.
According to him, we have demonstrated that Serbia knows how to react quickly, responsibly and thoughtfully, that it does not retreat in the face of pressure, but rather seeks solutions, builds partnerships and strengthens institutions.
Serbia, as a relatively small country, must be aware of its place and its achievements, he pointed out, and emphasised that as a society we must first unite around basic goals and overcome divisions, which have no place in modern Serbia.
Macut said that Serbia remains firmly committed to the European path and the implementation of reforms aimed primarily at citizens and improving their standard of living, emphasising that we must not allow any political decision to slow us down in that task.
At the same time, as he stated, our country will continue its uncompromising struggle to preserve its territorial integrity and sovereignty, because the preservation of Kosovo and Metohija within Serbia remains the most important state and national issue.
According to him, the goal is a stable, competitive and open Serbia that builds, maintains growth, creates better conditions for employment and a better quality of life and standard of living for every citizen.
