Speaking at the session, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić, Macut stated that traffic safety remains one of the priorities of the Government of Serbia, because every human life saved is the greatest success of the state.
He emphasised that the results achieved through the joint work of the competent institutions show that preventive measures, consistent application of regulations and the development of modern solutions produce concrete results, but that it is necessary to continue with investments and activities in order to make roads even safer for all road users.
It was assessed that systemic measures, coordinated work of the competent institutions, increased traffic control and continuous preventive activities have contributed to reducing the number of traffic accidents.
Dačić underlined that traffic safety is not the responsibility of just one institution, but a shared obligation of the entire society, which is why the state will continue to improve regulations, strengthen preventive activities, and resolutely sanction the most serious traffic violations.
