Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, addressed the Olympic Committee of Serbia today at a ceremony marking the departure of Team Serbia to the Mediterranean Games, which will be held from 21 August to 3 September in Taranto, Italy.

Prime Minister wishes Serbian athletes success at Mediterranean Games

The Prime Minister said that Serbian athletes have another major competition ahead of them and an opportunity to show the talent, dedication, discipline and unity that Serbian sport is known for.
Macut said that competing for Serbia is a great honour and responsibility, noting that success is not measured only by the medals won, but also by effort, perseverance and dignified representation of one’s country.
The Prime Minister wished the Serbian athletes much success, sporting happiness and good results, expressing the conviction that they will represent Serbia worthily and continue the tradition of successful performances at the Mediterranean Games.
The event was attended by President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia Dejan Tomašević, Minister of Sport Zoran Gajić, Italian Ambassador to Belgrade Luca Gori, athletes who will represent Serbia at this competition, their coaches and members of the professional staffs, as well as representatives of national sports federations.
