Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, told the participants of the General Assembly of the International School Sport Federation (ISF) today that the holding of this meeting in Belgrade is a confirmation that Serbia is continuously investing in the development of school sports and that it is a reliable partner and a good host of major international sports events.

Macut said that Serbia is proud of its sporting successes, but even more so of the fact that every future champion takes his first sporting steps on the school playground and in the gym.
He added that Serbia is committed to improving conditions for the development of school sports with the aim of ensuring that every child has the opportunity to engage in physical activity, develop their potential and grow up in a healthy environment.
The General Assembly was opened by President of the International School Sports Federation Željko Tanasković and was attended by Minister of Sport Zoran Gajić, ministers and deputy ministers of sport of Brazil, Egypt, member of the royal family of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Suhail al-Maktoum, as well as representatives of national school sports organisations from more than 50 countries.
The General Assembly of the International School Sports Federation is held in Belgrade, organized by that federation and with the support of the School Sports Association of Serbia.
