On the sidelines of the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly in Marrakesh, Dačić met with Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi.
The Deputy Prime Minister recalled the readiness of Serbia and the Ministry of the Interior to make a greater contribution to the work of Interpol, including through our country's initiative to open an Interpol Regional Bureau in Belgrade.
Dačić and Al-Raisi noted that the role of Interpol, as an international criminal police organisation, is increasingly important in an era of strong technological progress, as well as in the joint fight against all types of traditional and new forms of crime.
The Minister expressed gratitude to his interlocutor, who, during his mandate at the head of Interpol, has fundamentally, consistently and successfully implemented the tasks and goals of this organisation and prevented its politicisation.
In the name of very good cooperation, as well as for the exceptional contribution and achieved results in the field of internal affairs, defence and security, the Deputy Prime Minister presented the President of Interpol with the highest decoration of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior - the Star of Jakov Nenadović.
