The fair was opened by President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, who pointed out that this event has reached the fourth place in Europe in a short time, which is the result of cooperation between the Balkan countries.
In his address in Hall 1 of the Belgrade Fair, in the presence of the Ministers of Agriculture of Albania and North Macedonia, as well as Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia Ivan Stoilkovikj, Vučić highlighted the importance of cooperation between Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania.
This fair brings everyone together under one banner - the banner of work, hard work and great effort of winemakers, tradition, organisation, but also a common aspiration for progress, he underlined.
Chair of the Institute of Masters of Wine and Regional Chair for Provence at the Decanter World Wine Awards Rod Smith said that in the last ten years there has been a massive improvement in the style, quality and recognition of wines around the world and in the Balkans, and especially in Serbia.
Stevan Rajta, Director of the Serbian Wine and Viticulture Association, said that Belgrade is a true world capital of wine, as exhibitors and visitors from 34 countries have come and pointed out that more than 1,500 business meetings will be organised.
Rajta added that the Wine Vision is of great importance for the affirmation and promotion of Serbian and Balkan wines, as well as brandies and other spirits from our region, which are increasingly building their reputation on the international stage.
The fair runs until 25 November and will feature approximately 600 domestic and foreign exhibitors from 34 countries.
