The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management today organised a ceremony for presenting the first IPARD III resolutions on the approval of projects under Measure 1 – Investments in Physical Assets of Agricultural Holdings.
The beneficiaries who successfully passed the project approval procedure were presented with the resolutions by Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Professor Dragan Glamočić, PhD, and Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia Andreas von Beckerath.
Glamočić stated that the IPARD III programme brings €378 million in incentives, of which €288 million is from the European Union and €90 million from the Serbian budget.
With the participation of farmers themselves, this means investments worth more than half a billion euros in Serbian agriculture, the Minister explained, adding that these are funds that change the image of villages – they build farms, raise plantations, introduce solar power plants, modern cold storage, automated systems and digital tools.
He pointed out that each supported project means more food from Serbia, stability for rural areas and strength for our economy, emphasising that this programme is also strong evidence of the partnership between Serbia and the EU and stable cooperation in the field of agriculture.
He stated that the Ministry will continue with new public calls, measures and more precise and efficient procedures, so that as many producers as possible take advantage of the opportunities offered by IPARD, as well as national measures.
Von Beckerath wished the new beneficiaries of this support much success in implementing their projects, adding that the accreditation process for new measures, which will bring additional opportunities, should be faster so that the funds reach Serbian farmers and companies in the agro-sector as soon as possible.
We are confident that the lessons learned from the previous period will help speed up implementation, and we encourage all interested parties to take advantage of the opportunities that IPARD provides, the Head of the EU Delegation said.
