At the opening of the 12th International Exhibition of Armaments and Defence Equipment – PARTNER 2025, Macut said that this was made possible by the clear political commitment of Serbia’s state leadership to develop the country’s defence capabilities as independently as possible.
According to him, this has given a strong incentive to domestic expertise to fully express itself through research and development, resulting in a number of highly successful projects.
The Prime Minister stressed that these projects have led to the production of high-quality, technologically advanced combat systems for the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which there is strong interest from foreign buyers.
Serbia’s defence industry must have confidence as an important factor in the national ability to safeguard freedom, Macut underlined.
He added that, looking back through history – from the establishment of the foundry in Kragujevac in 1853, when the first six cannons were produced, to the present day – only the defence industry factories have stood alongside the army as a guarantee of freedom and defence capabilities, while also being a major economic factor for the whole of Serbia.
The defence exhibition, he said, is an opportunity to present, above all to the professional public, everything that Serbia’s defence industry has achieved in the previous period.
Macut also noted that the large number of foreign exhibitors present at the event confirms that they value openness and the possibility of cooperation.
More than 200 exhibitors from over 30 countries are participating in the exhibition. In addition to Serbia, participants come from China, Russia, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Italy, Türkiye, India, Iran and other countries.
The PARTNER defence exhibition is organised biennially and this year will run until 26 September.
