First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali attended the ceremonial opening of the Expo 2027 Playground this evening at Hall 5 of the Belgrade Fair – a space that embodies the vision of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade.
In his address, Mali stated that over 130 countries are expected to participate, noting that Belgrade and Serbia will become the centre of global attention in 2027.
The space, covering approximately 2,300 square metres, is dedicated to the organisation of the Specialised Expo and serve to present Serbia to both domestic and international audiences, he said.
This is also a space for participating countries and their representatives to engage in discussions about their involvement in the Expo, he said.
To date, 118 countries have confirmed their participation, Mali added.
At the heart of the Expo Playground are two prototype pavilions – previews of the future Expo structures – which offer visitors a glimpse into the design and functionality of the forthcoming exhibition, while providing a platform for international participants to discuss and envision the design of their national pavilions.
The venue also features a detailed model of the Expo site, showcasing the national and international pavilions, thematic and best-practice zones and supporting infrastructure and facilities – all underscoring the scale and significance of one of the largest development projects in this part of Europe.
