Đurić pointed to the traditional friendship between the two countries, which dates back to the time of Presidents Nkrumah and Tito, and which continues and is being improved today.
We see Ghana as a key regional partner and our traditional friend, which is simultaneously oriented towards contemporary and future cooperation, the Minister emphasised.
The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude for Ghana’s principled position on the issue of consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
Serbia proudly continues its anti-colonial and non-aligned tradition and today actively contributes to shaping global politics, especially through its chairmanship of the Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence, the minister said.
Đurić also emphasised the need for more intensive connection between the two peoples, especially in the context of demographic challenges, which also implies greater mobility of the workforce between the two countries.
Okudžeto Ablakwa pointed out that the visit of the Serbian Foreign Minister represents a significant milestone in relations between the two countries and that it demonstrates a clear commitment of both sides to deepening cooperation and strengthening partnership.
In a meeting with Ghana’s Minister of Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku, Đurić emphasised that there is great potential for intensifying cooperation in this area, and offered the assistance of our renowned agricultural institutes, such as the Institute for Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad and the Institute for Maize in Zemun Polje, as well as our institutes whose work focuses on biotechnology. According to him, they can transfer their knowledge and experience in using new technologies and modern techniques in agriculture to their colleagues from Ghana.
