Contract for construction of Dub–Dubci road section with Kadinjača tunnel signed

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure in a caretaker capacity Aleksandra Sofronijević signed a contract today for the construction of the Dub-Dubci state road section including a tunnel beneath the Kadinjača mountain pass.

On this occasion, Sofronijević stated that the contract provides for the construction of a 6.28-kilometre section featuring a highly significant infrastructure element along the route – the Kadinjača Tunnel.

She specified that the tunnel has a total design length of 1,260 metres and that the project also entails the construction of six additional bridges and 20 retaining structures.

The Minister highlighted the significant transport importance of this section, noting that it will connect western Serbia with Republika Srpska and thus Bosnia and Herzegovina while also providing indirect links to the E-761 highway and the future Belgrade-Southern Adriatic highway.

According to the Minister, the construction of this road is also of great importance to the residents of Užice, Bajina Bašta, Ljubovija, and Mali Zvornik, as the new section will connect directly to the Užice bypass, which is currently under construction.

The total value of the project is €102 million, while the contracted deadline for the completion of all works – encompassing both design and construction – is 42 months from the date of contract signing.
