Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today in Bern with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional and global issues.
Addressing reporters after the meeting, Đurić expressed his gratitude to the Swiss hosts for being the first country to officially confirm its participation in the Expo 2027 exhibition.
He said that Serbia and Switzerland have excellent cooperation in the economic sphere, primarily in the field of ICT and other services, and that Serbia greatly appreciates that country's support in the development of our science and technology parks.
The Minister stated that Switzerland and Serbia, as militarily neutral countries, have a specific view of world events.
In the context of discussing regional and global issues, the Serbian Foreign Minister said that he shared our country's position and our desire to contribute to peace, not only in our region, but also more broadly, as well as our readiness to participate in all initiatives that lead to peace and stability on our continent.
Noting the good relations between Serbia and Switzerland, Cassis said that there is room for their further improvement, especially in the areas of economy, science and modern technologies.
He also stated that he had discussed with the Serbian Foreign Minister the situation in the Western Balkans, as well as the Swiss chairmanship of the OSCE in the coming year and cooperation with Serbia within that organisation.
