Seeing off the first Air Serbia flight from Nikola Tesla Airport between Belgrade and Toronto, Đurić emphasised that by re-establishing the aforementioned air route, we are connecting Serbia not only with one of the largest economies on planet, but also with two important branches of our people.
He pointed out that hundreds of thousands of people of Serbian and regional origin live in Canada, for whom the new route will provide easier connections with their homeland.
The head of Serbian diplomacy is one of the first passengers on this newly opened airline, as he is traveling with a delegation on a bilateral visit to Canada.
This is, as he explained, the first official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia to Canada in more than a decade, assessing that it represents the opening of a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
The Minister announced that on Monday he would talk with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, the Speaker of the Canadian Parliament, representatives of the business community and members of the Serbian community.
He expressed hope that the new airline would contribute to the arrival of a larger number of tourists and the strengthening of family and economic ties between Serbia and Canada.
Flights between Belgrade and Toronto will be organised twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with Airbus A330-200 aircraft from the fleet of the Serbian national airline.
