Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starović and Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka signed today a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of European integration.
Starović and Kachka stressed the importance of mutual support between the two countries on their European path, as well as the importance of strengthening dialogue and partnership in areas of common interest.
The Memorandum confirms the commitment of the two countries to improving bilateral cooperation and exchanging experiences in the process of European integration, including strengthening institutional capacities, training of civil servants, harmonisation with the EU acquis, as well as exchanging knowledge on the use of EU funds.
The document envisages the organisation of joint conferences, consultations, professional training and exchange of experts in order to further improve the European integration process of Serbia and Ukraine.
The interlocutors assessed that bilateral relations between Serbia and Ukraine remain good and stable, while continuous political dialogue and regular meetings of officials confirm mutual readiness to further strengthen cooperation.
Starović emphasised that since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Serbia has consistently advocated the position that a solution must be sought in accordance with international law and the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, while recalling that our country provides humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and its citizens through various forms of support.
