Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Goran Zivkov will travel today to Austria, at the invitation of Austrian Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management Josef Proll.
During his two-day visit to Austria, Minister Zivkov will meet on July 11 with Minister Proll and officials of the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, with whom he will discuss possibilities of improving trade between Serbia and Austria, reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy within the framework of current negotiations with the World Trade Organisation, and possibilities of technical support by the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management to the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management for using pre-accession EU funds for new candidate countries.
According to the visit plan Zivkov will attend the conclusive meeting “Exchange of experience between Serbian and Austrian organic farmers” – of the project “Paths of Cooperation”, in which eight agriculturists from Serbia are visiting Austrian organic farms from June 24 to July 15.
Serbian agriculturists are on a three-week educative visit organised under the auspices of the Austrian association of organic farmers “Bio Austria” and the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, for the purpose of exchanging experience and implementing scientific procedures in organic farming with Austrian colleagues.
