Particular attention was devoted to cooperation on strengthening the capacity of local governments to implement gender equality policies, as well as opportunities for the implementation of joint projects that will contribute to improving the position of women and ensuring a more consistent implementation of policies at the local level.
The officials also discussed amendments to legislation related to the prevention and suppression of violence against women, as well as opportunities for cooperation in improving the legislative framework in the areas of gender equality, in accordance with the standards and best practices in the European Union.
