Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Mission Chief Annette Kyobe.
Macut underlined that cooperation with the IMF is one of the key pillars for ensuring long-term macroeconomic stability and sustainable economic growth in Serbia, highlighting the full commitment of the government to continuing the implementation of reform processes.
The Prime Minister assessed that Serbia, despite numerous global challenges and unfavourable economic developments in the world, has managed to preserve macroeconomic stability, maintain a favourable business environment and achieve continuous economic growth.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of maintaining fiscal discipline and improving the efficiency of public finance management.
He pointed out that Serbia's strategic priorities are preserving and improving the existing economic environment, creating new jobs, strengthening the capacity of domestic industry and continuing to attract foreign direct investment.
Kyobe underlined that the International Monetary Fund remains strongly committed to supporting Serbia in achieving its development and economic goals.
She added that intensive dialogue and close cooperation between the Government of Serbia and the IMF will continue in the coming period, with the aim of further strengthening the institutional framework and achieving sustainable economic growth.
