Speaking at the reception for representatives of the diplomatic corps, dignitaries and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Đurić underlined that foreign policy is a means and a guarantee that internal development, social cohesion and prosperity will be a reality, not just a wish.
Relying on its rich diplomatic experience, motived by human potential and inspired by the values it shares with the world, Serbia will walk ahead with the vision of a respected, safe and open state, the Minister underlined.
He pointed out that Serbian diplomacy, which faces many obligations, great opportunities, geopolitical challenges, regional dynamics, technological changes and new security risks, will never falter.
It will remain flexible, innovative and consistent, and Serbia will be a state that engages in dialogue, builds bridges, protects its interests, respects others and will be an example of stability in an ever changing world, the Minister stated.
On the occasion of Serbian Diplomacy Day, the Minister had previously laid a wreath at the memorial plaque erected in memory of Nenad Nikolić, a member of the reserve force of the former Federal Ministry of the Interior, who tragically lost his life during the NATO aggression on 30 April 1999.
After that, Đurić visited the Museum of Diplomacy, which preserves documents that testify to the tradition of Serbian diplomacy, as well as the memory of all those who gave their lives in the active service of the Serbian career diplomatic corps.
