Stojkovic briefed Tatozzi on activities the Ministry has undertaken so far to fight corruption in the judiciary as efficiently as possible, and which have already given concrete results.
If there is no "clean" court, there can be no organ that can fight corruption either, the Minister stressed and added that the independence of the judiciary entails responsibility of judiciary office holders for the work they perform.
Tatozzi told Stojkovic that it is necessary to introduce valid and effective instruments for preventing corruption, which reduces possibilities for the appearance of corruption and its consequences.
Tatozzi, who is familiar with the present situation in Serbia's judiciary and inherited poor personnel structure, pointed to the importance of training judges and prosecutors, as well as appointing new judiciary office holders who will have opportunities to advance thanks to efficiency of their work and the results achieved, which will largely influence the quality of the judiciary's work.
Stojkovic and Tatozzi exchanged experiences in the fight against corruption and agreed that today's meeting is one of the important steps that will contribute to joint fight against corruption.
