Sofronijević emphasised that Serbia attaches great importance to projects implemented in cooperation and with the support of the Transport Community, primarily because it believes the region’s future lies in living together, cooperation and connectivity.
The Minister remarked that this leads to improved living standards for citizens, as well as faster and safer transportation for passengers, adding that the Transport Community serves as a vital platform for joint action.
She pointed out that today’s Ministerial Council meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the progress achieved so far and to jointly define the next steps, especially in the context of the green and digital transition, transport safety and strengthening institutional cooperation, in the spirit of solidarity and partnership.
Sofronijević underlined that Serbia has already made significant progress in aligning with European Union standards, especially in the rail transport sector.
It is up to us to continue working because Serbia must continue to develop economically. We will continue to implement existing projects and launch new ones, but to achieve this, we need the support and assistance of the EU and the Transport Community, the Minister concluded.
