During a visit to Sremski Karlovci, Loncar said that so far money has been allocated in two rounds - in the first round, 55 municipalities in Serbia received a total of 110 million dinars, and in the second, whose distribution is still underway, 70 municipalities received a total of 207 million dinars.
He pointed out that a public invitation will be issued inviting municipalities to take part in the third round of the competition, which will be opened by mid July. The distribution of some 107 million dinars will begin in early September.
The Minister explained that as of this year, the Serbian government has the opportunity to allocate funds every three months through public competitions at which all local self-governments that have projects can take part.
Loncar said that the decision on allocation of funds is made by a commission composed of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Agency for Development of Infrastructure of Local Self-Governments, and the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.
The criteria for selection of successful candidates are the quality of a project offered, its financial possibilities and the share with which the municipality takes part in the project.
Today, the Minister handed over a decision on the allocation of 4.4 million dinars to the municipality of Sremski Karlovci for the project of modernisation of public administration's work.
