Labus, Polt discuss better economic relations

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus and newly-appointed US Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Michael Polt agreed at a meeting today that it is necessary to pay special attention to the development of economic relations between the two countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister said after the meeting that relations between Serbia and the US will be intensified in the upcoming period, adding that he informed the US Ambassador on the Serbian government's policy.
Labus said that this government will conduct the policy of improvement of economic relations, which will contribute to the creation of new jobs, which is Serbia's main economic problem at present.
He said that close cooperation will be carried out in other fields as well.
At today's meeting, it was agreed how the future relations between Serbia and the US will look like, said the US Ambassador, adding that his country will offer substantial assistance to Serbia's economic development and opening of new workplaces.
Polt said that he and Labus discussed many other issues related to relations of the two countries, and expressed gratitude for a warm welcome upon the taking over of the new office.
